New Kotoko Trainer Pledges To Revive The Club’s Ailing Fortunes

written by Editor

New trainer for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Steve Polack has promised to revive the ailing fortunes of the club ahead of his imminent arrival for the second half of the campaign. The English trainer for Berekum Chelsea recently agreed a deal with the beleaguered Kumasi based to trade camps for the start of the second department of the season.

The expatriate trainer for the Blues enjoyed two spells in the Ghana premier league with King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea before returning to the Golden City for the start of the current campaign. The soft spoken tactician masterminded an impressive home record for the 2010 league that has so far dropped points just on one occasion, coincidentally against Kotoko.

Speaking to Joy Sports ahead of his imminent arrival at the camp of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Steve Polack echoed the need for collective approach that includes the fans, management, the players and anybody related to the club.

“We know where Kumasi Asante Kotoko should be and we are going to work extra harder to achieve that.  The players are going to work harder, the management will work harder, the fans will work harder and we are going to work together”, Steve Polack told Joy Sports

Kumasi Asante Kotoko parted ways with their croat trainer Zdravko Lugarusic after eight games into the campaign and are winless since that time.

written by Editor

Sacked Kotoko Coach Zdvrako Logarusic says he has no bad feelings toward the playing Body and management of the Club. The Croatian trainer was sacked after 11 matches in charge if the Red Army and a second place on the log in the ongoing 2017 domestic season.
The axed trainer led the Kumasi based side to 5 victories , 2 defeats and 4 drawn game but his defensive mindset and tactical orientattion cost him the managerial duties in Kotoko.
Many pundits labelled the sacking as harsh and irrational but the Croat insisted he was no stranger to such acts in his managerial career. Speaking to Ghanasportsmail ahead of his departure from the Kotoka International Airport in Accra , the former Gor Mahia gaffer was optimistic of teaming up with some of his players.

“I came to say thank you very much for everything because I will see some of the players again and some will also play for me again and that is the key thing.

For example , some players like Yakubu and Nafeu played for me in my days at king Faisal and Ashgold and made a good job for me. If I get the opportunity I will help them but the most important thing is Kotoko for peace”, Zdravko Lugarusic said.

Many fans and pundits alike cannot still comprehend the reason behind the strange firing of the Croat who has since ushered Kotoko into the second slot on the league chart , built around defensive resilience. Kumasi Asante Kotoko appointed Frimpong Manso and Godwin Ablordey to handle the club on interim basis as they go in for a new head coach.
