Kwasi Appiah To Mark Black Stars Competitive Audition In Kumasi Next Month

written by Editor May 11, 2017

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is set to make his audition as the manager of the national team with a mouth watering clash in Kumasi early next month. The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko full back has been given a perfect platform to kick start his second spell as the head coach at the dreaded Baba Yara Sports stadium when the Black Stars host Ethiopia in a 2019 AFCON qualifier.

The Black Stars of Ghana last played a competitive fixture at the Baba Yara stadium three years ago in a 2015 AFCON clash but has been offered a way back to the stadium as a way of welcoming their new trainer. The June 11fixture will see Kwesi Appiah returning to the Kumasi Sports stadium for the first time as a head coach of the Black Stars since parting ways in 2014.

The Black Stars welcome Ethiopia in the opening fixtures of the 2019 Nations cup which serves as the first competitive game at the senior national level. The return of the Black Stars to the Baba Yara sports stadium has been embraced as a tonic targeted at bridging the gap between the fans and the players , also allowing renovation work to take place at the Nation’s Wembley
