Head coach of Inter Allies, Prince Owusu has advised club owners in Ghana to allow their coaches to sign their own players.
Contrary to practices in other world football countries, Ghanaian Club owners are known to recruit players even before they appoint a coach – Prince Owusu finds this very worrying and must be brought to an end.
The gaffer made this known after his side, Inter Allies held giants Asante Kotoko to a 0-0 stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
”I want to say something now. I think this year everybody should listen carefully, let’s talk to our team owners that they should do the best thing, the best thing they have to do is to hire and coach and allow hi to do his own recruitment”
He went on to use Coach Dzravko and Coach Nuttal of Kotoko and Hearts respectively as examples.
”This coach[ Dzravko Logarusic] here is coaching and he wants to play system but he doesn’t have the guys to play that role, he is finding difficulties and we have been blaming him he;s not good because he didn’t do his own recruitment the same thing is happening to Accra Hearts of Oak right now as we speak.
”They finished recruitment before they had a coach so when that happens the coach comes and has no choice than to use those players which makes the work very difficult for them” he said at a post match conference on Sunday.
