Major League Soccer based Ghana international Jonathan Mensah marked his return to the Columbus Crew side in a 3-2 win over Portland Timbers. The suspended Ghanaian centre back made a swift return for Crew after sitting out the last two fixtures due to an expulsion in the MLS.
The 26 year old former Anzhi Machackala central defender last 70 minutes on his return to the side as they stopped a stubborn Timbers side in the MLS. Compatriot, Harrison Afful , lasted the full throttle as a late winner from debutant Niko Hansen won the game for the host on the last minute.
