Asante Kotoko Stay Joint Top After Last Gasp Winner Against Sharks

written by sportsAdmin March 5, 2017

Asante Kotoko remained joint top of Ghana Premier League standings after Emmanuel Gyamfi grabbed a late goal to secure maximum points against Elmina Sharks.

The Porcupines Warriors needed yet another late strike at the Baba Yara stadium, this time coming in the 95th minute, to make it three straight wins in the topflight.

Coach of Sharks, Kobbinah Ammisah had managed to keep the sensational youngster out for most parts of the game but Gyamfi with little space shot a superb strike to back of the net.

Kotoko showed more intent in the second half piling on more pressure on visitors but no change in the scoreline. Yakubu close a couple of times as well as Baba Mahama.

By the 80th minute, coach Zdravko Lugarusic had exhausted all substitution with Kwame Boateng, Isaac Quansah and Abass Mohammed brought on for Sarfo Gyamfi, Baba Mahama and Eric Donkor respectively.
Fans appeared to have had enough and were filing out of the stadium. And just as they were leaving, Emmanuel Gyamfi scored.
He was adjudged man of the match after proceedings. His fourth award in five games this season.
