Embattled Accra Great Olympics trainer Godwin Attram is blaming detractors for his side’s indifferent start to the season. The former Ghana international saw his side plunged straight into another relegation battle with just four matches into the season.
The 1970 league champions have endured a winless start to the campaign on their return to top flight football. Their head coach though is blaming outsiders for putting unnecessary pressure on the playing staff with just four rounds into the 30 game season.
The retired Ghana international, who featured for the multinomial club in the second tier football before leading them at the tunnel leapt to the defense of the young players in his side but rued the absence of Manomey and Bernadinho in the home defeat to Bechem United.
Speaking to the press after the home reverse at the Accra Sports stadium, Attram defended his youngsters and revealed having no personal interest within the team.
” I brought 10 young players from the academy and in all our preseason games we won with them.
” A lot of pressure is coming from all angles and it is creating a lot of problems within the team.
“There is a personal interest in the team but I believe the players I chose will do the job for me “, Attram said after the game against Bechem United.
He added ” I have no personal interest in the team . All I want is Great Olympics to survive in the league .
“I missed Manomey and Bernadinho for the Bechem United game “.
Accra Great Olympics are noted for their on and off return to the topflight with several demotions following them almost on seasonal basis.
