Former Ghana Fa Boss MND Alajhi Jawula wants the Football Association to concentrate to making the Premier League lucrative as a panacea to the fallen standard Clubs in Africa. Bechem United and WA All Stars were bundled out of the Caf confederation Cup and Champions league at the preliminary stage and that follows the recent trend of very poor performances in Africa by Ghanaian Clubs.
In finding a solution to the developing trend, member of CAF’s inter Club Committee insists making the league profitable to Clubs is a necessary measure. The ace football administrator leaned on the fragile nature of the league and it’s unattractive nature as the leverage around sponsors shun away from investing in the league .
Ghana’s continental hopes have been punctuated by poor outings in the CAF flagship tourney with many citing the true state of the GPL as the cause of the early exit.
Wa All Stars zoomed to the 2016 top flight trophy but were sent packing at the first hurdle whiles Bechem United slumped to a 4-1 defeat in Algiers to bid good bye to their Confederation cup dreams.
The last Ghanaian trophy on the continent dates back to 2004 when Hearts and Kotoko booked an all Ghanaian affair in the CAF confederation cup.
