We target 100% record in Group D – Ghana captain

written by sportsAdmin January 19, 2017

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan does not care who his side will face at the Africa Cup of Nations, saying the Black Stars are ready to overcome any opponent.

The four-time African champions started their Nations Cup campaign with a narrow 1-0 over Uganda on Tuesday, thanks to a penalty from Andre Ayew in the 32nd minute.

They will face Mali on Saturday before ending the group stage with an anticipated clash against Egypt three days later.

“Mali and Egypt? We are not interested about our opponents,” Gyan said.

“We are looking to win all our games to top the group.”

Meanwhile, Ghana boss Avram Grant expressed his pleasure after his side’s winning start, saying his side still have something better to offer.

“I’m happy with our win over Uganda in the group opener,” Grant told the post-match news conference.

“There are no easy games in the Nations Cup but I’m sure that we have something better to offer in the coming games.”
