President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has commended Dreams FC’s decision to accept the GFA’s Appeals ruling to demote the club to the Division one.
The Appeals Committee who were acting on an order by the Court of Arbitration for Sports, to reconsider a case involving Dream FC and Tema Youth in which the former fielded an unqualified player, ruled that Dreams FC are to suffer a demotion to play in the Division next year despite retaining their Premier League Status in the just ended football league season.
Many had expected Dreams FC to contest the decision but the club in a statement released this week said it had accepted the decision and will abide by it.
Reacting to the club’s decision not to further seek legal redress, the GFA President lauded the clubs management saying their decision will pave the way for a stable football calendar in the coming season.
“Their decision is reassuring that they will comply with the decision to allow sleeping dogs to lie. It will bring stable in our football calendar, so I want to commend them for that.”
